About Me

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited to teach third grade at Carpenter Elementary School again this year! I am a graduate of The University of Illinois and began my career teaching 6th grade in Plainfield for two years and then in Downers Grove for seven more. In fact, I grew up in Downers Grove and taught at the same school I attended as a child. During that time I earned my Master's Degree at National Louis University. In addition, I became an educational consultant working with teachers in districts all over Illinois. I enjoyed helping teachers incorporate technology into their classrooms to enhance student learning. Most recently, I earned an English Second Language endorsement.

I moved to Park Ridge in 2004 and began subbing in District 64. I was fortunate to sub at Carpenter where I met our amazing principal and teachers. Eight years ago, I became a Kindergarten teacher at Carpenter. The following year I was the Channels of Challenge math teacher for the third and fourth grades. The next year I was a fifth-grade teacher and in the last years, I taught third grade. I am thrilled to teach third grade again this year!

My goal as an educator is to empower all of my students to think critically, communicate and collaborate with others, and be creative. I want to inspire my students to take risks and become life-long learners. I will create a safe, respectful environment where we all love to be!

I still live in Park Ridge with my husband and three children. My two sons and daughter attend The University of Illinois. I also have an adorable Cocker Spaniel named  Cody.:)

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or to just say hi.  I look forward to working with you and your child this year!
